Topic 10 Reflection

This week I watched videos from group 6, 8, 10, and 15. I thought they all had interesting topics and found it nice to hear from so many groups during class.

My favourite video that I watched was from group 15 which was Jack, Will, Refano, and Byron. They looked at using Slido in the classroom. I found Slido to be a great tool to add engagement into teaching! It is a tool used to ask questions and take polls and can be added to slideshow presentations. It can be used as diagnostic or formative assessment to get a good idea from students of where they’re at. This can help teachers know how the students are really doing and will inform them of the next steps.

I can see myself using Slido in future presentations, whether that be university projects or future lessons. I think students will like the engagement element and it will also allow for student voice and choice. I see it allowing more reserved students to be involved, especially since the responses can be anonymous. Group 15 did a great job of outlining the pros and cons of this tool and definitely sold me on it!
