Topic 5 Reflection

A new tool I explored this week was Obsidian. It is an app that organizes notes and to do lists and can be used for personal or professional uses. I think this is a great tool to help stay organized. It is nice to have all notes in one place. As someone who uses to do lists often, having them on one app with my other projects would be helpful. One element that I found to be interesting was the “Graph” where basically you can make a web of your notes to highlight their similarities. It is also an engaging visual aspect. Here is an example from the Obsidian website:

While I do think Obsidian would be helpful for both students and teachers, some parts of the platform are similar to those of the various Google apps. This is probably because I’m familiar with Google but I do think it can be used very effectively once you have had a chance to explore everything. I have heard about Google Keep but haven’t used it that much. I tend to use to task feature on Google Calendar instead. After trying Google keep out, I ended up realizing that the notes you add on Google Keep get added to your Google Calendar which is super helpful! I think something that I will try to use more of in the future, especially as a new teacher trying to stay on top of everything!

Here is my tasks tab that I created on Google Calendar:
